Prayer of the Heart: a group for learning, reflection & prayer, on the first Thursday of the month, 10.30 – noon, Our Lady & St Thomas, Ilkeston in the crypt after 9.30am Mass.
Jesus tells us to “enter our inner room” when we pray. Throughout the ages Christians have understood this to mean “Enter your heart, the deep core of your being where, by grace, God dwells. Learn to ‘abide’ there, learn to recognise & reject all that clutters your heart, all that leaves little space for God, little silence in which to listen to Him.”
In this group we will be nourished by Scripture & guided by the wisdom of Christians who have made their heart a dwelling-place for God. Praying together in silence & sharing our reflections on what we are reading together, we will support one another in our desire to live in a heart-to-heart relationship with the God who loves us.
